With the cutting completed, it is
once again time to polish. Normally, the same polishing
compound and lap combination that was used for the pavilion
is also used for the crown.
The stone is lowered down onto the polishing
lap to remove the frosted, gauged surface left by the
cutting lap.
Here you can see several polished facets (the first
"row," along the girdle), with the remainder
of facets still unpolished.
